OUR HISTORY

Putnam County Aging Program, Inc. has been serving the seniors and disabled residents of central West Virginia since 1975. What started as a small initiative to support the aging community in Putnam County has grown into a comprehensive nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults across the region.

From the very beginning, our focus has been on providing essential services such as in-home care, meal programs, and transportation to ensure that seniors can live comfortably and independently. Over the years, we expanded our reach by establishing senior centers in both Putnam and Fayette counties, where seniors can connect, enjoy nutritious meals, and participate in activities that promote health and well-being.

Guided by our mission to serve seniors with compassion and respect, we have introduced specialized programs like Alzheimer’s Respite Care and the Meals on Wheels program, addressing the unique challenges faced by our community’s elderly and disabled. Today, we operate six senior centers, offer in-home care services, and continue to look for new ways to serve those who need us most.

As we reflect on our history, we are grateful for the support of our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community members who have helped us grow and thrive. We remain committed to our founding mission and look forward to many more years of making a positive impact in the lives of local seniors and their families.

Thank you for being a part of our story and supporting our mission!
